What is NESAY's Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)?

YAC gives young people an opportunity to be a representative for their peers, be heard and develop interpersonal and professional skills.

Who can join NESAY's YAC?

  • People aged 16 - 25 years from North East Victoria
  • People with an interest in advocating for their peers
  • Preferably have a lived experience of homelessness, school disengagement, out of home care or family conflict
  • YAC is inclusive of gender, sexuality, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Ethnic diversity

What is required of YAC Members?

  • Providing advice to NESAY on their service delivery and on issues that impact young people
  • Attending meetings every two months at NESAY or via video link

NESAY will provide an induction and training for all committee members. To cover the costs of attending and recognising the contribution of the YAC, each committee member will receive a
$20 gift card.
