MEET OUR YAC MEMBERS

Rachelle

What do you enjoy about being a part of the YAC?
My favourite thing about being a part of the YAC, is being able to give back to the community, while enhancing my leadership skills.

Why did you choose NESAY?
I was offered the opportunity to branch out as part of another program through NESAY.

My favourite quote is:
“All you need is faith, trust and a little pixie dust.” – Tinkerbell, Disney

Lyndsey

What do you enjoy about being a part of the YAC?
I would say one of the best things about being on the YAC is having the opportunity to give a youth perspective to issues that directly impact youth. It’s so important for young people’s ideas, opinions and needs to be heard and working on the YAC allows for this to happen.

Why did you choose NESAY?
I honestly chose NESAY out of convenience – I chatted to the people at my school’s careers night and went with it! However, even though I didn’t look into many youth committees, what I do know is that I made a good choice as the people involved have been so helpful and welcoming and the meetings have been very informative and interesting

 My favourite quote is:
My favourite quote would have to be ‘love like you’ll never be hurt’ because what you put out into the universe always comes back to you.

Isabelle

What do you enjoy about being a part of the YAC?
I enjoy the wonderful and warm members I get to engage with during our meetings, as well as the many opportunities we are presented to encourage us to grow as people.

Why did you choose NESAY?
Joining NESAY was a spontaneous decision I was met with after discovering it at a careers event. I really resonated with the mission and goals of NESAY and YAC, and felt it would be an exhilarating opportunity, which turned out to be the best spontaneous decision I’ve made.

 My favourite quote is:
“Don’t let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game” – Babe Ruth.

Charlie

What do you enjoy about being a part of the YAC?
I enjoy feeling like I’m doing my part to create a strong line of communication between Wangaratta youths and the services and programs that are built to help and support us. It’s incredibly rewarding and I’ve learnt so much about our community.

Why did you choose NESAY?
I chose NESAY because they’re an organisation that I feel young people can trust to have their best interests in mind, and everyone is so kind and passionate about their roles.

My favourite quote is:
My favourite quote is ‘The time will pass anyway’, because I think investing your time in something you’re passionate about- no matter how long is takes- is incredibly valuable to your own happiness and growth.
